Simple Interior Designing Tips

Interior design is a subject of much enjoyment or stress, depending on how you look at it.
If you like playing with colors, textures, fabrics, furniture and spaces, Interior Designing can be plenty of fun. The great thing about Interior designing is that you don't necessarily have to hire a professional Interior Designer. With our Interior design ideas, you can make a few simple changes to your home or office, and make it look spanking new. This is true of modern Interior design as well designs that are old-school and classical. And if you're on the fence as far as these two sensibilities are concerned, we can even help you mix and match.
Here are a few basics of Interior designing, before you work on any space:
Light colors Expand, dark colors Contract: Light colors always make a space look larger and more airy, while dark colors make a space look smaller. when doing your interior designing, keep this in mind. If you have a tiny apartment but want to make it look larger, choose upholstery that is light colored wherever possible. Also make sure you choose a light-colored wall paint like beige, ivory or white.
Don't ignore the Doors and Windows: People often don't think much about the doors and windows. However, these have a huge impact on the facade as well as the interior design. Moreover, these are responsible for light, air and security. For the most practical option, choose UPVC windows that are water-proof, termite-proof, dust-proof, sound-proof and secure. Use French Windows or bay windows where you want a lovely view.
Make Furniture multi-task: Space-saving is everybody's mantra today, and the only way you can do it is by making your furniture multi-task. For instance, make the chest of drawers in your bedroom double up as a dresser. maybe couple of the drawers can function as a shoe rack. having an easy to pull out trundle bed in your kids room will accommodate both your children without compromising on space.
Painting basics: Get your painting basics right. If you want to use two or more colors in a room, make sure they're from the same color family e.g., use red and a pale orange or use blue and a pale green.
Pick an accent color: Whenever decorating a room, choose one accent color that contrasts with the base color. for instance, if brown is the predominant color in your bedroom i.e. the furniture, the bed cover and chair are in beige and chocolate brown, choose an accent color like orange or turquoise to bring the place to life. Use the accent color in cushions, window blinds, a vase, the wall paper or even a rug. Don't use the accent color in more than three elements.
Practicality of Modern Interior Design: Be practical when coming up with Interior design ideas. Don't buy something just because it's fashionable. Find out about its maintenance time and cost needed. Buy it only if you have domestic help to maintain it or don't mind shelling out the extra bucks for its upkeep.

If still confused with what to keep, what to buy and how to design your home, then you left with no choice but to hire professionals to help you out here.

Color or Mood...

Color is the creator of moods. Decorators understand that fact and rely on color to set the tone for any room they are designing. They realize that the wrong color choice can leave people feeling vaguely uncomfortable, like something's off a bit. You can use this designer's trick when you are decorating a room and want to create the perfect atmosphere. Think about what the room you're decorating is used for. Ask yourself  how you want yourself and others to feel when they're in the room. What kind of emotions and energy do you want to stimulate?

Blues are for Relaxing
Blue is one of the most popular of all colors and many men say blue is their favorite color. Most shades of blue are tranquil and calming. They're even known to lower blood pressure and slow the heart rate. Blues are great color for bedrooms and baths or other spaces where you want the mood to be soothing.

Greens are Naturals
Green is a calming color as well, bringing in the tranquility of nature. It relieves stress and is often used in waiting rooms to lessen anxiety. That's why the 'green room' is where people wait when they are about to appear on television. It's also considered a healing, healthy hue and the color of fertility. Until the 15th century, green was the color of choice for wedding gowns.

Yellows are Energizing
Yellow is associated with happiness, optimism and energy. Use touches of this color in rooms where you're active, like kitchen and family rooms. Don't overdo, however, because too much yellow can cause agitation and arguments.

Orange is Cheerful
Orange is a color that evokes a feeling of warmth and contentment. This is a good color choice for family rooms, kitchens, and other rooms where people come together.

Browns are Down to Earth
When people see brown they tend to think of strength, solidness, and security. Another warm shade, brown is a good choice for dens, libraries, and other rooms where you want people to feel comfortable and safe.

Reds are Exciting
Red is for romance, passion, and warmth. Reds are stimulating and tend to whet the appetite so it's a great color to use in dining rooms and kitchens. It's also a good choice where you want to encourage conversation and activity like living rooms or game rooms. Touches of red add a romantic air to your bedroom, but don't use too much or it will keep you awake.

Purple is for Royalty
The color purple has long been associated with royalty, luxuriousness, and elegance. If you want to invoke a feeling of richness in a room, bring in shades of grape, aubergine, lavender, or lilac. Accent with golds or silver to take the opulence up a notch.

Black and White for Sophistication
Black represents power and sophistication, while white symbolizes the opposite - innocence and purity. Together or separately, these colors add an air of drama and contrast to any room. If you are struggling to choose a color scheme, think about the mood you want to create. When you determine the factor, you'll have a clear clue to the color that will work best.

it's all yellow.........

If you are looking fora burst of sunshine in your interiors, then take a look at this beaming collection of yellow room reference, to try throughout your home.

To add a cheerful ray to your living room you could start subtly with accessories, cushions and throws, artwork, or perhaps a small accent chair or decorative screen, but if you wanted to go all out on the theme, paint a large accent wall in a vibrant shade or even have a sofa reupholstered. Of course, there are many shades to choose from, if a bright primary yellow is too overpowering for you, a lemon sherbet may be more calming on the eye.

In a bedroom its simple to change up a color scheme with new bed linen, curtains and lampshade, but for extra zing try repainting that drab old chest of drawers and headboard, or even just a bookshelf and the frame of a full length dressing mirror.

In a kitchen or dining space, yellow is very effective as the backing color to an area of shelving, specially when stacked with other colorful items, cups and bowls.

Team your yellow with lots of white to keep the look ultra fresh.

A grey background pulls the bright shade back for a more sophisticated look.

True lovers of a yellow palette with revel in glossy color block kitchen units, or go for yellow splash backs if you are not feeling quite so brave.

A soft yellow with muted green creates a relaxing environment.

If you don't want to paint your white walls, bring color into your room with accessories, furniture and shelving.

Using dove grey as backdrop, duck egg blue against yellow is stunning.

You'll find that many colors look great with yellow, team with splashes of blue or green accent pieces to balance out the scheme.

So start today...Look around your rooms and tell me where can you fit this bright sunshine yellow.
